Bread Street Kitchen

Back in Mid-November, The Boy and I decided to treat ourselves to a lovely weekend getaway at Atlantis the Palm.  The price included dinner at either Nobu or Bread Street.  We have heard a fair bit about Bread Street from various friends, so we thought we would give it a shot!

Firstly, we had the most divine waiter called Kyle.  He was new over from Cape Town and was a breath of fresh air.  We thoroughly enjoyed his service.  He was polite and chatty, and just fun!  Thank you again!

Now, dinner… the bit I had been looking forward to after running around Aquaventure all day like a loone!  (Ok, that’s a lie.  I spent the majority of the day on the lazy river!)

We started by ordering a glass of wine, and Continue reading

Merry Christmas!!!

I don’t go in for all this “seasons greetings” or “happy holidays’ bollox.  It’s Christmas and I’m excited!!

So much so, that I have changed the look of my blog for the next week!

Also, I have a beautiful real tree this year… Continue reading

Because they don’t care anymore…

As you will have heard by now, The Ivy in Emirates Towers is closing it’s doors on 31st December.  There are a myriad of rumours going around as to why this is happening, none of which I am going to repeat on here as some of them could be slightly libelous at best!!

What I can tell you is that it just feels like they no longer care.  Why do I say that?  Well, Ladies Night.  I went last week and had the worst meal I have every had there.  By far.

The Ladies Night menu consists of a 3 course meal and 4 glasses of wine for AED 199 which is an absolute bargain.  Or, it used to be.  Now it’s just a bit embarrassing.  Portion sizes have been cut down so dramatically that you really are thankful for the bowl of bread at the beginning of the meal.

For example, this is their prawn cocktail starter: Continue reading

The Roast Diaries – Venue 5

It’s been a little while since The Boy and I over indulged in a roast dinner at the weekend.  I blame the nice weather as we have spent more time at the beach or the pool. This weekend however, that changed…

My friend Justine has a Christmas time birthday, so before everyone scattered across the globe for the festive season, we got together for lunch to celebrate with her.  Her birthday, her choice and so she chose Reform Social & Grill in The Lakes.

I have to say, and with no over exaggeration or drama,  Continue reading

Letter of Complaint

Dear Reel Cinemas / Dubai Mall Platinum Movie Suites,

Since your manager failed to call me back for a discussion, I am writing to you via social media because I am still quite disappointed at my experience with you last weekend.

The Boy and I came to watch “Allied” with you, and decided to make it dinner and a movie because we really do like your snacks.  But sadly your service was not up to standard at all.

Upon arrival I was seated by one of your team in my favourite spot in the lounge.  I had got there early so that I could place my order and relax before seeing the movie.   Continue reading

The Burj Club

Back in September, I started writing this post but got all distracted and never posted!  When I say write, I mean that I put the photos on here and captioned them.

Nearly 3 months on and I still think this was a really lovely pool day but a little too urban for me.  When it does get busier, it will be not as nice.

But for now, have some photos: Continue reading
