So it turns out that there is a really good reason that I don’t drink during the week. I am too old and my hangovers are way too bad. That said, I had such a great night at the Firebird Diner that I only marginally care how rough I feel right now!
Firebird Diner is the American style offering from the Four Seasons at DIFC. It’s a concept done to death in my mind and most fall way short of the mark. Not so much this place. It’s decor is bright and clean, and well, American Diner style. I don’t know what else to say really!
What I do know I am going to say is that their Ladies Night offering, Burgers & Bubbles, is Continue reading
I’m an Aunty again! My wonderful sister had her third child on Wednesday and he is utterly divine! Naturally this had to be celebrated, and so we celebrated in expat style… with a brunch!
There are so many on offer at the moment that it was a tough choice, but after reading Lil One Of The Ashes review on Giardino it became a lot easier. A brunch with pool access is combining two of my favourite things… even more so when The Entertainer’s monthly offers has a 241 voucher!
6am Friday morning I was up and fretting though. What do you wear to the Palazzo Versace when you’re not even a plus size model shape? (Plus size? They are a UK12. That’s called human. Grr!)
The answer came to me in a blinding flash of inspiration: Continue reading
I woke at 5am in a real huff. I have no clue why. Perhaps I had been having an enraging dream or something? It’s highly possible as I am a compulsive dreamer. Whatever the reason was though, there was no going back to sleep. I went through Facebook, and Instagram, and caught up on my blog reading. I even went on Twitter but that really is my least favourite social media app currently. By 6am I had finished with those and even playing Boggle and Words with Friends against the app.
Don’t you hate it when your day starts like that!?
It did however rapidly get better as I ended up convincing The Boy that it would be a great time to get up and dressed, and head to the fish market that one of my friends had discovered the other day! Continue reading
Yep! I’ve found the energy after my incredibly long last post to tell you about my second award!
Also nominated by the lovely Expat Panda, this time for the Blogger Recognition Award. It’s another cyber hug really but again, I am really touched to have been thought of given how many bloggers there are out there. This time though there is no cap on followers so really, it feels bigger and more shiny!
Well, I don’t care who else because, ME!!!
Yep, that’s right! I have been nominated for two blog awards!! In a bid to look way more successful and busy, I will be printing in two separate posts!! I know it’s not a Pulitzer but whatevs! I am taking it as a win!!!!
(No one who ever got a Pulitzer would ever use so many exclamation points so I’m not holding my breath for that in my future!!!)
The very nice lady who writes Expat Panda nominated me for the Liebster Award, which is very lovely of her. I don’t know her and I didn’t know she read my ramblings, but I am pleased that she did. I can now add a pretty new graphic to my page! See….
Quite some time ago, I found a delicious recipe for Cajun chicken pasta that was Slimming World friendly. I made it and it was as tasty as it sounded. When thinking about what to cook for dinner last night this popped into my head.
Do you think I could find that recipe anywhere? Nope. Not a chance. I did however find a picture of the one I made last time and it jogged my memory somewhat.
Look how pretty that was!
This is a very short post because there is no debate in my mind….
Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup kicks Sweet Freedom’s Choc Shot ass. It isn’t as watery and it has a better and less synthetic chocolate taste.
You can see I love them by the fact they are emptying, and the Choc Shot isn’t!
I can’t compare any other flavours because this is the Continue reading
