7.30am – Snuggle back down into duvet as no breakfast making means longer lay in.
7.45am – Go waste time in the shower.
8.00am – Start Juice 1 shots.
8.01am – Get pleasant surprise that the juice tastes better today.
8.23am – Have last shot. Continue reading
I would like to give a shout out to Claw in Souk Al Bahar, which is consistently good. So few places are anymore. From the food to the team; there is no bad here as far as I can tell.
I had a bit of a rubbish day so to cheer me up The Boy took me to lunch. He knows that Claw will always work instantly. They have pork ribs. I am so easy to please.
This time though I decided to be different. Check me being all brave and darey!! Continue reading
According to Slimming World rules, avocados have syns. 10 syns per 100g to be precise. It seems like a lot.
The avocado pear is one of the most nutrient packed fruits around. It has vitamins B, C, E and K for a start. It also has a bunch of other things that I can’t remember and probably couldn’t pronounce anyway. Continue reading
I was having one of my regular Facebook mumbles the other day and used the phrase “hot as a bastard oven” to describe the weather at the moment. I think this is a very accurate way to sum it up. However… My coworker thought it was the funniest thing she had read in forever, and was still giggling about it the next morning.
Yep. Apparently I’m funny. Who knew.
During the highly entertaining conversation, where she likened my comic genius to Melissa McCarthy (well, my circumference at least used to be the same before she got all healthy so there is some connection), she suggested that I start a vlog, or video-blog for those of you who are as up to date as me.
This alarmed me on many levels, for example: Continue reading
That’s right peeps! There is a brunch that has Veuve Clicquot!!!!!!
I kind of don’t want to write this because then you’ll all know about it and it will get super popular. If that happens, I won’t be able to get a table as often as I would like to! I have a feeling I may become a regular!
Ballaro at the Conrad is officially my new favourite!!
It’s thankfully not a party brunch (although the live band and the DJ are very good), and it’s not a “family” brunch. It’s just a nice brunch! There is a range of people attending from large groups celebrating birthdays, to families, to couples and to smaller groups of friends who are just having a good gossip! Continue reading
I am not someone who goes out all the time. I like to stay home and cook or bake, and watch tv. That is how I relax and and I am very happy with being a borderline hermit!
Thursday nights are especially ‘indoorsy’ for me. I made it through the week. I want to enjoy my weekend. And, I am no longer in my 20’s! It’s no longer “girls night” as Friday nights always were. If there is wine consumed, its a glass and not a case. I am happy with that. I can’t bounce off the hangovers like I used to!
There is pretty much only one place that will make me change my mind and get ready at a speed to put Clark Kent’s transition to shame.
This is one of the strangest places in Dubai and I love it. It has amazing food and drinks. Super friendly staff. A completely eclectic music selection. Customers representing every corner of the globe. And pork ribs. Yes, that’s right. Pork! Continue reading
I’ve been mulling this over for a few days, and I can’t see it any other way…. The movie “Minions” was a spectacular disappointment.
I loved Minions. I had been crazy excited about the movie opening in Dubai so I could finally see it. My friend and I got tickets for the first available showing thanks to a google alert showing us that they were on sale. That’s how seriously we took this movie. That’s how excited we were.
But what a waste of build up. There are moments of comic genius in the movie… most of which you have seen in the trailers.
Kevin, Stuart and Bob are cute. There is no denying that. However, they are not strong enough to carry a movie. It could have been really very good. It had such potential. Continue reading
