Brunch at Coya

Hello everyone!  I’m back… sort of.  I never meant to be away.  It just kind of happened.  I ran out of words again.

But thanks to my friend’s birthday brunch at Coya this weekend, I have plenty!

Coya is the Four Season’s Peruvian offering, and I’ve heard some really good things about it.  I’ve also heard some less than impressive things.  I went very briefly when it first opened for one of their much discussed cocktails it was absolutely Continue reading

Ladies Night at Cook Hall!

Yeah, I did two ladies nights in two days.  I am a beast.  I am getting them both out there though so that I can have space to blog about a rather good weekend that’s coming up too!!!

Cook Hall is the American gastro pub (agreed – gastro pubs should be British) at the Westin in Al Habtoor City.  It was quite an exciting find really.  I’ve not been to anything in the new cluster of hotels, and so there was the excitement of catching up with Carla, and there was also exploring somewhere new!

It was FUN!  I really liked it.  It’s insides I would describe as “industrial chic” and there were very “Gaucho” cushions in the booths.  The booths themselves are very high backed so you don’t get disturbed by the party behind you, and they are actually super comfortable which is surprising!

The team are great.  I have ice in my wine because I like it very cold.  normally I have to ask over and over again, but this guy (whose name escapes me due to aforementioned wine) remembered every time!  He is a gem!! Continue reading

Ladies Night at Nezzas!

It’s been quite a while since I went to Nezesaussi Grill at the Manzil Hotel, Downtown.  At least 6 months, I’m sure.  Good news is that it’s still great!  Just thought I would let you know!!

(P.S.  Whilst googling how to spell this venue’s name, I have discovered there is one now in the Marina too.  I wonder if they have the same offers?  I will leave that for you to work out because the marina is faaaaaaar!)

I’ve got to work out how to take better menu pictures! Also, there is steak/salmon too.

The Tuesday Ladies Night offer still remains the same.   Continue reading

Claw BBQ Crabshack & Grill, Dubai

I would like to give a shout out to Claw in Souk Al Bahar, which is consistently good.  So few places are anymore. From the food to the team; there is no bad here as far as I can tell.

I had a bit of a rubbish day so to cheer me up The Boy took me to lunch.  He knows that Claw will always work instantly.  They have pork ribs.  I am so easy to please.

This time though I decided to be different.  Check me being all brave and darey!! Continue reading

Lesson Sadly Learnt

If you see a new restaurant or a cafe that looks amaze, and you really want to try it, do. As soon as possible. Don’t wait a few years to get around to it. Because when you do it might completely suck and then you’ve wasted a few years waiting for the right time to treat yourself.

Yes, this really can happen. Today proved that completely.

I have been walking past Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar for the last few years.  Self preservation has always kept me as far away from it as possible.  I mean, a whole cafe dedicated to chocolate?!  Amaze and sooooo dangerous. Continue reading

Miss Lily’s Dubai

Everyone, and I mean literally everyone I know has been talking about Miss Lily’s recently, and I smugly am able to tell them how much fun it is because I went at the beginning of November!  (Yep… This post has been in draft for quite a while!!!)

For those of you who don’t know my history, I’m an island girl at heart.  I lived in Bermuda for 5yrs and got quite a taste for jerk chicken as there was a few Jamaican restaurants/cafes to chose from.

When Ting Irie opened I was all all excited until a) I discovered Continue reading

Best Indian Restaurant, EVER.

I am not a huge fan of partying in the New Year.  I would much rather have a nice meal or some nice nibbles at home.  New Year’s Eve also happens to be my little sister’s birthday so it’s more of a family time than a party time.

This year was no exception.  I didn’t want to go into town, despite very glamorous offers.  I just wanted to stay home, see my sister in the day and then have a nice meal with The Boy and my Mum.

So that’s just what we did.  At my favourite Indian restaurant in the world.  Literally!

Introducing Sara and Raja who are Continue reading
